Purplebricks has appointed the former Just Eat marketer, Ben Carter, as its new Chief Marketing Officer.

 

He joins the UK’s largest estate agency this week. His remit covers all aspects of marketing strategy, with particular focus on driving growth and diversifying the channel mix, to emphasise Purplebricks’ digital-first approach.

At Just Eat - first as UK Marketing Director then more recently as Global Director of Restaurants and Strategic Partnership - Ben played a pivotal role in establishing the business as the UK’s number one food delivery platform.

Prior to Just Eat, Ben was marketing director at Notonthehighstreet.com and previously held senior marketing roles at Betfair and Setanta Sports. Before moving brand-side, Ben was a journalist and the former News Editor of Marketing Magazine.

Since launching six years ago, Purplebricks has built high levels of brand awareness, largely achieved through a series of high profile and irreverent TV adverts. Its current campaign highlights its sponsorship of Team GB and features Olympic athletes Laura Kenny, Bianca Walken, Moe Sbihi and Dan Goodfellow. Purplebricks will be continuing to activate its Team GB sponsorship moving into 2021, with the postponed Tokyo Olympics due to take place next summer.

Explaining his decision to join the company, Ben comments, “I love working in high growth disruptive businesses with ambitious and innovative teams and Purplebricks is no different.
